The ex-lover of a former Johannesburg ANC Youth League leader testified in court how the politician assaulted her after he beat up her friend.

Zimbini Mathibe told the South Gauteng High Court sitting in the Randburg Magistrate's Court that she was with her friend Siphokazi Mandleleni when Patrick Wisani‚ 30‚ arrived.

Wisani is the former chairman of the ANCYL in the Johannesburg inner city and former CPF chairman in Yeoville‚ Johannesburg.

She said on May 22‚ they were leaving a club in Nugget Street‚ Johannesburg‚ when Wisani alighted from a vehicle.

“He attacked Siphokazi‚ slapped‚ kicked and pushed her to the ground. While on the ground he continued assaulting her. He told her not to testify against him in court and threatened to kill her like he killed her twin sister Nosipho.

“I tried to intervene and he slapped‚ throttled and pushed me to ground. If I didn't use my hands when I fell to the ground‚ I would have hurt my lip‚” she said.

Wisani‚ who is defending himself after his lawyer abandoned him‚ denied the allegations. Judge Mohamed Ismail pleaded with him to think about his decision of representing himself‚ but the adamant politician maintained that he wanted to clear his name alone.

He is accused of killing his lover Nosipho Mandleleni‚ 24‚ on September 5 last year in Yeoville‚ Johannesburg.

It is alleged that the politician assaulted Mandleleni to death with a sjambok and a broom stick.

His R3‚000 bail was revoked earlier this year for allegedly assaulting Siphokazi and her friend Zimbini Mathibe after they left a club in Johannesburg.

Siphokazi testified earlier that Wisani allegedly slapped‚ punched and kicked her threatening to kill her like he killed her twin sister and threatened her not to testify against him. Mathibe who is Wisani's ex-lover was allegedly slapped and throttled when she tried to intervene.

The trial continues.
