African National Congress general manager Ignatius Jacobs is suing public relations strategist and elections “War Room advisor” Sihle Bolani for R500‚000.

Jacobs instructed his lawyers to pursue a case of defamation of character against Bolani arising from an article about the “War Room” that was published in Sunday World newspaper.

He said that his good name‚ reputation‚ dignity and status had been harmed.

  • War Room: We waged an ‘aerial battle against hostile media’‚ says SisuluShaka Sisulu says he was “not involved in a smear campaign” but the so-called ANC “war room” waged “aerial battle” in last year’s elections.

Bolani took the ANC to court last week‚ claiming that she was owed R2.2 million for work done by her company during the campaign to bolster the image of the party and disempower political rivals during the 2016 local government elections. ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa‚ however‚ distanced the party from the “War Room”‚ saying that the activities of those involved were “not sanctioned by the ANC”.

  • ‘Cope was the first victim of ANC’s war room’The ANC’s so-called “black ops” campaign is at least eight years old. That’s if Dennis Bloem is to be believed.

Jacobs' lawyers have given Bolani 10 days to pay R500‚000 and have demanded an apology‚ failing which legal action will be taken against her in the Gauteng High Court.
