Friday marked an important day for South Africans as tens of thousands of people took to the streets.

Some were protesting against President Jacob Zuma and what they see as his cronyism while others marched in support of the embattled president.

On our map‚ we've tracked the major protest routes in four cities - Cape Town‚ Durban‚ Johannesburg and Pretoria - as well as gatherings at ANC headquarters in Johannesburg‚ Luthuli House‚ and the Gupta family home in Saxonwold‚ Johannesburg.

We've also included some of the top photos by our reporters across the country.

Retrace your own steps here or see what other South Africans across the country got up to.
