simfy to bring music streaming to South Africa
South Africa is about to get its own musical download service – simfy africa.
Started as a partnership between local company eXactmobile and European streaming provider simfy, the service will provide access to 18 million songs, and add 500 thousand each month.
The program allows you to stream as much music as your internet connection can handle, and to listen to it offline through simfy africa’s mobile apps.
You can also personalise and share your playlist with friends, or discover new music through branded playlists.
The service will allow the first streaming service in SA to allow users to pay for it via their mobile phone networks. It also allows payment via credit card, direct debit, EF and more.
The service will go live on August 27, and will cost R60 a month. If you register for it before then, you stand in line to win a free six month account.
You can pre-register for the service here.
