Being wireless is one heck of an advantage to any set of headphones – which is more or less what I used the Logitech H820e Duel headset as.

The headset is sold as being for business, yet I found it worked extremely well for gaming. The sound quality was excellent, and it is lightweight enough that I almost forgot I was wearing them at times.

Personally I always preferred earphones that fit around the ear rather than on it, bit that wasn’t a huge minus really.

Set-up was pretty easy – they just plugged and played much like any other headphones.

The headset connects to your computer via the charge stand, which itself requires access to a plug. The battery within the headset does not appear to hold its charge very well – while it claims to have up to ten hours worth of talk time, when I left the whole thing off the charger for an evening it was out of power by the next morning.

That said, you are going to have the charger plugged in anyway so it isn’t much effort to just put the headset on it in the evening.

One thing that I think that Logitech could work on for future in this range would be getting it compatible with TV sets. Wireless earphones could solve a lot of issues in that regard.

According to the blurb it has a range of about 100 metres – which is ten times better than Logitech’s H600 headset.

The thing is the H600 headset is R714, while these are a pricy R2,155.

Normally if I am looking at that price range, I expect it to claim that it is for gaming because in videogames higher definition sound really pays off – being able to hear approaching footsteps is a big advantage in first person shooters for example.

These claim they’re for business.
