The Acer C120 LED projector is basically a good deal – with a few irritating niggling points.

What this projector brings to the table is the fact that it is highly portable, cheap and easy to use.

You may want a bean back or tripod to make aiming it a bit easier, but it basically works quite nicely with decent image quality, and a somewhat minimalist set-up.

About all that comes on the projector is a wheel for setting its focus - everything else has to be done from the computer you plug it into.

On the other hand, it ideally takes up two USB ports and a wall socket. This can be annoying on a laptop where USB ports are precious.

You can run it without using the wall socket or both USB ports, but this produces a dimmer picture, which means you need a darker room.

The other issue is that at full power the fan is quite noisy.

The thing that really annoyed me though was that it reset my desktop resolution to the minimum every time I plugged it in. The image looked fine at a higher resolution, so why it did this I don't know.

That said, it sells for upwards of R2,952 so I cannot exactly be too hard on it - it gets the job done.

You can see its full specifications on Acer's website.
