Judge lifts ban on domestic rhino horn trade

A moratorium on the domestic trade in rhino horns was reportedly lifted by a judge on Thursday morning. The Citizen reported that a high court judge in Pretoria set aside government’s six-year-old ban following an application by two farmers.The grounds for the application was that government had not given proper notification to the public about the ban nor allowed it to make submissions on it prior to promulgation.Government is expected to appeal the ruling...
