WATCH: Crocodile attacks couple in swimming pool

What should have been a relaxing evening dip on a hot night was rudely interrupted when a crocodile decided to crash the party.

The shocking CCTV footage shows the couple relaxing in the pool in Kariba, Zimbabwe, completely unaware that the predator is silently creeping up behind them.

It lunges into the water and chaos ensues. The man leaps out of the pool to safety, leaving the woman to swim frantically to the other side of the pool to escape the deadly reptile.

She eventually manages to get to the shallow steps, desperately trying to fend off the thrashing crocodile while the man tries to distract the creature long enough for her to escape.
