No‚ touching a frog won't give you warts - and if you want a prince‚ kissing one of these amphibians won't help you either.
In the build up to the fourth national Leap Day‚ the Endangered Wildlife Trust is using its Instagram page to create awareness of the hopping creatures. On Friday the organisation will attempt to break the world record for the biggest ever game of leap frog by getting 1‚500 children to participate.
Until then‚ they are releasing a daily froggy fact under the tag #ForFrogsSake. Here are some of them:
- One common misconception about our froggy friends is that they give you warts. This is NOT true. They would never do that.
- In some cultures it's believed that frogs shoot lightning out of their mouths. This is NOT true‚ but they do love the rain.
- There's a tale that says one of the older French flags contained an image of a frog. Nobody knows for sure‚ but just imagine!
