A sniffer dog is helping guards in a Melbourne prison to find mobile phones used by prisoners to continue their criminal activities.
Paris, a 4-year-old Labrador, has been trained to sniff out mobile phones, batteries and even SIM cards smuggled in by visitors.
"We know that by using a mobile phone, prisoners could potentially organise criminal activity from within jail, arrange for contraband to be smuggled into prison or harass people outside the prison walls," Victoria state Corrections Minister Bob Cameron said.Author: Sid Astbury
