HIV slur: girls fuming
Two of the 23 women named in an e-mail that claims that they are part of a "sophisticated group of beautiful girls spreading the HI virus" are fuming.
The women were named in an e-mail sent out under the name of Thabiso Mokgosi, 24, who claims he met one of them at work and that another contacted him through Facebook.
"This group consists of young beautiful girls; they meet on Mondays discuss stats and targets. This is dangerous and I feel people should be made aware of such groups," reads the e-mail posted on the blog thestreetwordiz.
Two of the girls named in the e-mail say they are being unfairly targeted.
Wilhemina Bodiba, 24, and Mashadi Lesia, 26, said on Friday that they will lay criminal charges against Mokgosi.
"I have to take legal action against this man because I am not HIV-positive," Lesia fumed.
She discovered the blog on Monday through a friend.
"I am upset and confused . this whole thing is so random, so irresponsible . it's criminal . I'm baffled.
"It's on another level, it's sick, malicious."
Lesia said she contacted Mokgosi on Facebook and he told her he was "warning the boys".
She told him that she was taking legal action.
"After that he deleted his status on Facebook."
Bodiba, of Mabopane, in Pretoria, said Mokgosi added her to his Facebook profile after being introduced by her friend.
"I have never met him personally but we have been communicating over the phone and on Facebook."
She was shocked to see her picture on Mokgosi's blog on Monday .
"This hurts, it's shocking, but I'm praying. I'm just praying because I have been brought up properly," she said.
Mokgosi, 24, denied posting details of the women on the blog, saying "a friend did it".
He has laid charges against the friend.
"I apologise to the women on that blog for dragging their names into something that I completely do not know anything about," he said.
