Trainer Harold Volbrecht on Friday threatened to dump boxer Tommy Gun Oosthuizen after the two-time world champion lost his IBO light-heavyweight title on the scales. Oosthuizen‚ who had also failed to make the weight when he was a super-middleweight‚ takes on Robert “The Butcher” Berridge of New Zealand at Emperors Palace on Saturday night.Berridge‚ who made the 79.35kg limit‚ can still claim the belt if he wins. But not Oosthuizen‚ who arrived at the weigh-in at 80.06kg. He was given two hours to work off the extra 710 grams‚ as is customary in boxing‚ but when he returned he was even heavier‚ at 80.55kg.Volbrecht was furious. “You know what — I have had enough of this. I am done with Tommy after this fight.”Oosthuizen‚ who eventually vacated his IBO super-middleweight title because of his weight problems‚ will forfeit 30% of his purse‚ which goes straight to Berridge‚ who registered 78.95kg.The visitor even had the option of refusing to fight and still being paid his purse because he had met his contractual obligations.Oosthuizen’s commitment and discipline has been questioned in the past amid claims of alcohol and substance abuse and‚ at one stage‚ promoter Rodney Berman had threatened to sever ties. His future could again be at risk. The Oosthuizen-Berridge bout headlines the four-fight card‚ and yes‚ the other contestants made the weight.Xolisani Ndongeni and Mzonke Fana will contest the vacant WBA Pan African lightweight title‚ and Johnny “Hurricane” Muller will take on Mateusz “Master” Masternak of Poland in a non-title 10-rounder in the cruiserweight division. The tournament will be televised live on SuperSport 4 from 8pm...
