Gugu Zulu's friendliness remembered by fellow climber

Cas Coovadia had only spoken to racing driver Gugu Zulu for 30 minutes‚ but his humour‚ dedication and friendliness‚ are some of the best attributes he will remember him for. “I’m very glad I got to know him for half an hour. He was a nice person…‚ humorous‚ friendly‚” said Coovadia‚ the banking association MD who was one of the 42 people who took part in the Trek4Mandela expedition.They were climbing to raise funds to buy sanitary towels for disadvantaged girls. Coovadia said he would not have summited Mount Kilimanjaro had it not been for expedition leader Sibusiso Vilane.“I find him to be a humble but strong leader. He encouraged us all the time. He must be proud that he brought us all back. “It’s a tragedy that Gugu didn’t come back but it is not Sibusiso’s fault‚” he said. “Let’s not speculate. Let’s wait for the post-mortem results.” Zulu died while taking part on the Trek4Mandela expedition on Mount Kilimanjaro on Monday.He complained of having flu-like symptoms on Saturday and posted on his Instagram account that he was “struggling with the mountain”...
