TEST AVERAGES

AB de Villiers was the second-highest with 330, but his top score of 135 not out boosted him to the top of the batting averages at 165.

Jacques Kallis weighed in at No.3 with 283 runs.

The West Indies' woeful batting performance was underlined by the fact that only Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored 300 runs in the three Tests to top his team's averages with 75. Nobody else even managed 200, and the next highest average was Dwayne Bravo's 33.20.

Sulieman Benn was the best bowler for the hosts, taking 15 wickets compared to Shane Shillingford's nine and Kemar Roach's six.

Dale Steyn bagged 15 scalps and Morne Morkel 14. Next best were spinner Johan Botha with seven wickets and Jacques Kallis five.
