After receiving none of the documents he requested from Cricket SA (CSA) by Monday afternoon, its president Mtutuzeli Nyoka said he  would consider taking legal action.

“I have not received anything from them yet,” Nyoka said.

   “They indicated that I could go to the CSA offices [in Johannesburg] to view the documents, but I think we all have an obligation to study these documents, not only view them.

   “These are legal documents and we all have a right to receive unconditional answers, but obviously we’re not all on the same page.”  

 Nyoka, who did not attend the CSA AGM in Port Elizabeth last month, asked for a copy of a report compiled by advocate Azhar Bham  on the findings of a KPMG forensic audit.

   At the AGM, CSA CEO Gerald Majola was again slapped on the wrist  for not clearing bonus payments through correct CSA channels, but was let off for the second time despite breaching the Companies Act  on multiple occasions.

   The CSA hoped Bham’s findings would bring an end to a long-running feud between Nyoka and Majola, and it said the matter was considered closed.

   Nyoka said he would consider filing an application against CSA at the High Court in Johannesburg.

   “I have to make a decision now on my response to this matter,” Nyoka said.

   “One option is to take legal action, but there are other options. I will make a decision by the end of the week.”
