Prince appointed Cobras assistant coach

SA’s loss has proven to be the Cobras’ gain‚ what with Ashwell Prince appointed the franchise’s assistant coach. The news follows Prince’s confirmation to TMG Digital that he had resigned as a national selector to pursue a career in coaching.“I would like us as a team to play for one another and to work as a strong unit‚” a Cobras release on Tuesday quoted Prince as saying.“It is a game of small margins‚ and when it is tight the scales will tilt in the direction of the team with a strong cohesion.”Prince will take his orders from head coach Paul Adams‚ who is under pressure after his team failed to win a trophy for the first time in eight seasons last summer.The Cobras finished fourth in the 2015-16 first-class competition after winning only three of their 10 matches.They reached the final of the one-day tournament‚ which they lost to the Lions‚ and were third in the T20 stakes.Prince played 53 of his 288 first-class matches for teams from the Western Cape.Anther former WP and Cobras player‚ Alan Dawson‚ is the Cobras’ new convenor of selectors. - TMG Digital..
