South Africa lost another player to county cricket when Glamorgan announced on Tuesday they had signed Marchant de Lange for three years.

The fast bowler‚ who has played two tests‚ four one-day internationals and a T20 for South Africa‚ has not gone to England on a Kolpak deal.

Instead‚ he is a non-overseas player who has been granted a United Kingdom visa because his wife holds a British passport.

But‚ while he plays in England under those conditions‚ De Lange remains ineligible for South Africa.

However‚ De Lange‚ who has struggled with injuries‚ last played for South Africa in February 2016.

He joins a growing pack of his compatriots in England.

They include Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw‚ who both play for Hampshire‚ David Wiese and Stiaan van Zyl‚ who are with Sussex‚ Derbyshire’s Hardus Viljoen‚ Simon Harmer of Essex‚ and Dane Vilas‚ who is on Lancashire’s books.
