Pacquiao's legal win
UNBEATEN boxer Floyd Mayweather will fight Filipino star Manny Pacquiao after all, although it will be a legal dispute after a federal judge on Monday denied a motion to dismiss the case. Pacquiao filed a defamation lawsuit against Mayweather, among others, that US district judge Larry Hicks ruled can proceed because there is sufficient evidence of malicious acts in accusing Pacquiao of being a dope cheat. - Sapa-AFP

THE company set up by Manchester United's American owners to run the English Premier League club recorded a net loss of £104.7-million last season. The Glazer family's Red Football Joint Venture Limited was hit by the £64.7-million cost of setting up a bond scheme to replace high-interest bank loans. Zubar out for season
ENGLISH Premier League strugglers Wolves suffered what their manager Mick McCarthy termed a blow on Monday when former France under-21 defender Ronald Zubar was ruled out for the rest of the season after a back operation. ROBBIE Fowler's career in Australian football's A-League may be over after his current club agreed to sign another player, leaving no room for the former England forward under the salary cap. NIGERIA suffered a huge blow on Monday when star goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was ruled out of this weekend's 2012 Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia because of an ankle injury. The 28-year-old Nigerian player of the year had wanted to play, but his Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv preferred that he did not.
