UNBEATEN boxer Floyd Mayweather will fight Filipino star Manny Pacquiao after all, although it will be a legal dispute after a federal judge on Monday denied a motion to dismiss the case. Pacquiao filed a defamation lawsuit against Mayweather, among others, that US district judge Larry Hicks ruled can proceed because there is sufficient evidence of malicious acts in accusing Pacquiao of being a dope cheat. - Sapa-AFP

THE company set up by Manchester United's American owners to run the English Premier League club recorded a net loss of £104.7-million last season. The Glazer family's Red Football Joint Venture Limited was hit by the £64.7-million cost of setting up a bond scheme to replace high-interest bank loans. ENGLISH Premier League strugglers Wolves suffered what their manager Mick McCarthy termed a blow on Monday when former France under-21 defender Ronald Zubar was ruled out for the rest of the season after a back operation. ROBBIE Fowler's career in Australian football's A-League may be over after his current club agreed to sign another player, leaving no room for the former England forward under the salary cap.
