Jomo Sono says the standoff is motivated by greed to control the huge financial windfall that Safa will receive after the 2010 World Cup.
"This whole hullaballoo is about who will control the billions Fifa will drop in Safa's coffers after the World Cup.
"Make no mistake, it is just about money and not about who is good in leadership.
"We cannot have one leader and one group controlling the PSL and Safa.
"We brought George Thabe down for the same reason and now because there is a lot of money, we want to go back to that time.
"I feel it is time football is controlled differently. I might be the most controversial and not the most likeable figure in the top hierarchy of football, but my history speaks for me."
That history includes supporting a group, of which Khoza was a part, that broke away from Thabe's iron-fisted administration of football.
"I stood with Irvin when he became the most powerful official in football at the time because that is what I believed was right," said Sono.
"People think I now have a problem with Irvin but I don't. I don't have a problem with Danny or Nematandani.
"I am my own man, I am my own mind. Nobody can call me at night and put me in a corner and say let us do this.
"I respect Irvin's power in the PSL. He has brought in TV money. But I don't think he should run professional and amateur football."
