Big guns return for the Lions

Josh Strauss, Doppies la Grange and Derrick Minnie will all return to the Lions starting line-up for their Currie Cup match against Griquas at Ellis Park on Friday.

La Grange replaces Lionel Mapoe at outside centre after he was injured during the Lions' 34-20 win over the Pumas last week.

Loose forwards Michael Rhodes and Warren Whitely move to the bench with the return of Strauss and Minnie.

Strauss will captain the Currie Cup log leaders after regaining his fitness.

James Kamana also makes a return after a long injury lay off and  was named on the bench.

Lions team: Jaco Taute, Deon van Rensburg, Doppies la Grange, Alwyn Hollenbach, Michael Killian, Elton Jantjies, Michael Bondesio, Joshua Strauss (c), Derrick Minnie, Cobus Grobbelaar, Franco van der Merwe, Wikus van Heerden, Patric Cilliers, Bandise Maku, JC Janse van Rensburg.

Replacements: Martin Bezuidenhout, Jacobie Adriaanse, Johan Snyman, Michael Rhodes, Warren Whitely, Burton Francis, James Kamana.
