The Sharks' fairytale start to their Currie Cup campaign when they beat the Blue Bulls 26-19 in Durban on Saturday night.

The Bulls got off to a better start when winger Jamba Ulengo opened the scoring with a try and took a 7-0 lead within the opening quarter of an hour.

The home side fought back to go into the half-time break with a 16-10 lead.

It was largely thanks to the boot of fullback Curwin Bosch, who continues to play with maturity beyond his 19 years of age.

The Bulls had in the week emphasised they were eager to improve on their defensive work from their previous matches. For most part of the match the Pretoria side's defence held until they let it slip in the end.

Bosch put in a man-of-the-match performance to ensure the Durban side remained unbeaten after four matches.

The Sharks have put their hands up as firm candidates for the domestic title, while the Bulls will need some improvements to keep their hopes alive in the competition.
