As defending champions, will there be more pressure on you this season?

Definitely. Last year people were hoping for an improvement, now they are expecting us to do well.

What was different this year in your preparations?

Our preparation was longer. We played in more tournaments and didn't practise that much. We played in Windhoek, Middelburg and Singapore.

Apart from New Zealand, who will be your biggest rivals?

England and Fiji. England were unlucky last year ... they played in four finals and won two. With a bit of luck they could have done so much better.

Who should we look out for in your squad?

We prefer to talk about the team as a whole but of the new players, Cecil Africa and JW Jonker will do well.

What is your biggest frustration in sevens?

Referees. The teams are quite professional but the referees don't seem to prepare as much as we do, and it shows.

Your favourite destination on the sevens circuit?

Hong Kong. It's the vibe, the glitz, the lights, the water. The energy is just amazing. It's also the tournament we haven't won.

Who would you like to sit next to on a long flight?

Any of the girls in the latest FHM.

If you were asked to sing the anthem just so that Ras Dumisani didn't get another go, would you?

I think I'd let Ras sing. I think he'll do a better job.

What can't you travel without?

My iPod.

Do you have the 1980s Spandau Ballet song True on your iPod?

I don't know music that well. I don't know that song. Really, I don't.
