Inter mildly deny interest in Kaka

European champions Inter Milan on Wednesday only partially denied reported interest in Real Madrid's Brazil star Kaka.

President Massimo Moratti was quoted as saying that "Kaka at Inter was a nice idea. I read it this morning. It is a nice idea, but it is not ours. I did not talk about it with (Inter former coach Jose) Mourinho."

The Corriere dello Sport daily reported that Inter could consider signing the Brazil midfielder in January, when he will have recovered from knee surgery.

Mourinho left Inter in May after winning the Champions League, but still seems to maintain contacts with his former club and hinted that Kaka could not be part of his tactical plans at Real.

Signing Kaka, who played at city rivals AC Milan from 2003 to 2009, would be Inter's reply to the Devils' purchase of Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former Inter striker that they snatched from Barcelona in late August.

Inter director general Ernesto Paolillo declined to comment on Kaka's possible transfer.
