Star strike Wayne Rooney may have clinched Manchester United's 19th premiership title, but his spelling isn't as sharp as his goal-scoring prowess.
Talk show host Piers Morgan nailed Rooney for his poor spelling on Twitter as he gloated after scoring the goal that ensured United regained the title.
Rooney tweeted: "A scouser knocks Liverpool of there perch. An evertoniian aswell. U can't imagine how happy I am."
Morgan hit back, first with: "It's 'off' & 'Evertonian'", then: "Keep drinking @WayneRooney - its doing wonders for your spelling."
A little later Morgan tweeted: "Dear god, I just miscorrected a @WayneRooney spelling mistake. It's 'their' obviously. He's contaminating me with his barbaric illiteracy."
Rooney retaliated: "Listen I have just won my fourth league title, when was the last time you celebrated. Certainly not your show!"
To which Morgan retorted: "I just celebrated big time actually - you finally spelling an entire tweet correctly. Congratulations."
Morgan also had a go at former England star Michael Owen, who had tweeted: "I've been there and done it mboobs. We all get older, no shame in that. Still life in the old dog."
Replied Morgan: 'It's moobs."
