A well-known South African soccer star and musician have been arrested, along with two others, for the possession of a stolen vehicle.

The names of the two celebrities cannot be released until they appear in court.

The soccer star, who is said to be a former Kaizer Chiefs player who is now with Platinum Stars, and the musician were passengers in the car that was stopped by Flying Squad members.

The car was involved in a high speed chase on the N12 highway in Benoni on Friday night after tracking company Netstar had traced a signal for a stolen vehicle.
