If reports coming out of German club Hoffeiheim are any indication, Knowledge Musona’s stay in South Africa with Kaizer Chiefs could be as good as a done deal.

Musona’s parent club, Hoffeinheim, today announced the signing of Swiss 22 year-old striker Steven Zuber from Russian champions CSKA Moscow, thus sending signals that the 24 year-old Zimbabwean international could be headed for the exit door at the Bundesliga club.

However, Chiefs’ communications boss Vina Maphosa told Times LIVE today that Musona’s return to Amakhosi is not yet cast in stone.

“Nothing is finalised yet,” said Maphosa.

Speculation linking Musona with another stint at Chiefs was fuelled by head coach Stuart Baxter, who said during a post match interview on Wednesday evening after his sides’ 2-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspuirt that: “We think everything is clear and Knowledge is on his way back.(Musona’s return) will give us a few more options and another dimension,” said Baxter, who is hoping to finalise a deal for his top striker before the transfer window shuts.

Musona was on loan at the Soweto giants last season where he scored eight league goals after failing to secure a permanent stay at the German club.

However, it is unclear at this stage whether Chiefs are looking to re-sign the Zimbabwe goal ace on a permanent deal and could take him on loan for another spell elsewhere.
