Rostov and Bafana Bafana defender Siyanda Xulu says a national team call up at this stage will “kill my game” as he is not playing regularly for his Russian team.

The 22 year old, who has four caps to his name, did not feature in Shakes Mashaba’s 26-man squad announced Thursday to face Congo Brazzaville in back-to-back 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.

“For now I’m focusing on getting my groove back playing well for my team here (in Russia) then I can expect the call up but for now I want to be fair and honest to myself -  expecting a call up now while I’m not playing regularly at my team will only kill my game,” Xulu told Times LIVE.

“To be fair, all I’m concerned about now is getting back my regular place in my team. Every player wants to represent his country at the highest level and I'm no different. But it’s always great to represent your country when you’re playing regularly and at your best.”

Xulu, who has just returned from a three-month injury lay off, has played half of the ten matches for his club so far and feels the time is not right for his inclusion.
