The South African national women's soccer team face a tough challenge against Algeria on Saturday to make it through to the semi-finals of the African Women's Championships in Windhoek.

After a 1-0 loss to Cameroon and a 1-1 draw with Ghana, Vera Pauw's charges were bottom of the log in group B with just one point.

Algeria had three points in the bag after beating Ghana 1-0 in their first match which was followed by a 2-0 loss to Cameroon.

Banyana Banyana have to beat Algeria to finish in the top three and in so doing qualify for the 2015 Women's World Cup.

"We did not have a good start, losing our first match in the dying minutes of the game. It was unfortunate that we drew our second game against Ghana as well, but we have one more match to push for a semi-final spot," midfielder Amanda Dlamini said.

"Algeria have a win under their belt. It's not going to be an easy game and this has put us under any pressure."
