Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Max Tshabalala has threatened to take the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to the “highest court” if the league’s DRC does not rule in their favour over the Camaldine Abraw saga.

PSL General Manager Derek Blanckensee was quoted on Monday saying Abraw was registered by Kaizer Chiefs and is legible to play for the Soweto giants despite a pending case of him allegedly signing two contracts with the two clubs.

Blanckensee’s comments stunned Tshabalala, who released a statement in which he accused the League of acting unprofessionally.

Tshabalala said he is confused that even before a decision is taken by the DRC, Blanckensee has already decided to make a ruling through the media.

The PSL Discplinary Resolution Chamber is yet to make a ruling on the Abraw matter.

“We are utterly stunned by Mr. Blanckensee’s judgment on the matter before the PSL can deliberate on the matter and come up with verdict,” said Tshabalala.

“As a club, we haven’t received any formal communication from the league as yet. The DRC recommended that the PSL check whether Chiefs was right to sign the player considering that he had signed a pre-contract with Celtic.

“Also to be determined was whether the player was right to sign two contracts with different teams.

“The league has to also make a decision on whether Celtic was right to sign the player three months before his contract epired without consulting his former club (Free State Stars).

“It’s worth noting that our request of have the player back at Celtic was duly denied by the DRC.”

“The league has to distance itself from the misleading statements made by the General Manager. We respect the league and are awaiting for the report.

“I promise that we will take this matter to the highest court if the results are not in our favour, purely because of our confidence regarding the matter,” added Tshabalala.
