Arsene Wenger has launched a scathing attack on Premier League rivals Liverpool after the Reds sacked manager Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers was relieved of his duties on Sunday after three trophy-less years at Anfield but, according to beIN Sports, the Merseyside club’s decision was irrational and too soon.

The Reds replaced Rodgers with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp on Thursday after the German signed a three-year deal with the club.

But Wenger, who’s been at Arsenal for 19 years, has blasted the club’s decision to sack Rodgers, saying he doesn’t understand it.

“Let’s not forget Liverpool has not won the championship since [1990]. They won 18 championships and since [’90] they have not won the championship,” Wenger said.

“They came the closest to winning it two years ago and now I don’t know why really, the rational reasons why they have made that decision so quickly. It’s difficult for me to understand.
