Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese has admitted that the team missed the leadership of influential defender Tefu Mashamaite in a season in which Amakhosi tamely surrendered the Absa Premiership title. Mashamaite was a huge figure at the heart of defence last season, but Chiefs coach Steve Komphela was unable to find a solid back four this season due to injuries, suspensions and a general lack of form.
