After an incredibly busy transfer window‚ it was a relatively sedate final day on Wednesday as just a handful of clubs made final attempts to bolster their squads for the new season.

The biggest arrival was actually not one bound by the window rules as free agent Anele Ngcongca completed his expected move to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Bafana Bafana defender signed a three-year deal‚ with the option for an extra season‚ and will feature in his first-ever PSL campaign having spent the past nine years in Europe.

Sifiso Myeni made a return to BidVest Wits just hours after Clever Boys CEO Jose Ferreira told Times Media Digital he did not expect any more signings.

  • Mngonyama joins Maritzburg United on a permanent deal from Sundowns Maritzburg United have completed the permanent signing of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Kwanda Mngonyama on a three-year contract.

Myeni had been transfer-listed by Orlando Pirates and faced a frustrating four months on the sidelines if a deal for him to leave the club could not be pushed through.

The 28-year-old made his name at Wits before leaving for Pirates in 2012.

SuperSport United were able to celebrate the signing of national team utility player Aubrey Modiba from Cape Town City.

Modiba‚ who played at left-back for his club this season but as a left winger for the national team at the Olympics‚ will add considerably to the options of SuperSport coach Stuart Baxter.

  • SuperSport United sign Aubrey Modiba from Cape Town CitySuperSport United have completed the signing of Cape Town City left-sided player Aubrey Modiba on a four-year contract just hours before the close of the transfer window.

City have signed Thato Mokeke on loan for the season as part of the deal.

The former Ajax Cape Town man is not as dynamic as Modiba‚ but offers PSL experience and a solid work ethic.

Kwanda Mngonyama left it late but signed a three-year deal at Maritzburg United‚ where he had spent the last two seasons on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The deal was always on the cards but Sundowns had been pushing to take Deolin Mekoa as part of the time. The KwaZulu-Natal club flatly refused.

  • Jack Wilshere joins Bournemouth on loan from ArsenalArsenal's England midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has suffered a string of injuries, has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan, the Premier League clubs said on Wednesday.

Free State Stars completed the signing of former Barcelona academy player Armand Ken Ella‚ a winger from Cameroon.

The 23-year-old was previously at Polish side Sandecja‚ but last played for them in November.

There was also one move among the South Africans abroad as Kgosi Ntlhe signed for English League Two side Stevenage‚ ending his five-season stay at Peterborough United.

It is‚ however‚ a drop down one division for the 22-year-old.
