Former Orlando Pirates winger Sameehg Doutie has agreed a bumper new deal to play for Athletio Kolkata in the Indian Super League (ISL). Doutie debuted for the side in the 2015 tournament and won rave reviews‚ earning a place in the Team of the Season as Atletico made the semifinals. He drew some interest from clubs both in South Africa and Europe after that‚ but an ankle injury sustained in the early part of the year meant he only returned to fitness in April. He has been picked up by Atletico for a second season though‚ but must wait until it gets under way in October for the three-month long season. The 27-year-old‚ who also played for Ajax Cape Town‚ BidVest Wits and SuperSport United in the Premier Soccer League‚ is hoping another good season with Atletico will be the springboard to a move to Europe.Doutie will have a new coach this campaign after former Mamelodi Sundowns and BidVest Wits tactician Antonio López Habas was replaced by fellow Spaniard José Francisco Molina‚ who has coached Villarreal in La Liga.Atletico regularly attract crowds of over 60‚000 and according to organisers the 2015 ISL had the third highest average attendance of all leagues around the world at 27‚111‚ behind only the German Bundeslga and English Premier League. - TMG Digital..
