Newly-promoted Belgian top-flight side Eupen have signed former Kaizer Chiefs winger Phakamani Mngadi.Times Media Digital reported last week that Mngadi hoped to re-join Eupen‚ where he previously played before moving on loan to Chiefs for the 2014/15 season‚ and the deal has now been confirmed.As things stand he will be the fifth South African competing in the Belgian top-flight this season along with clubmate Ntuthuko Radebe‚ Ayanda Patosi (Lokeren)‚ Andile Jali (KV Oostende) and Anele Ngcongca‚ who is still contracted to Genk‚ though he is seeking an exit from the team.The 21-year-old Mngadi played for Eupen for two seasons before joining Chiefs on loan for the 2014/15 campaign‚ where he saw his appearances limited to just a single substitute showing. He did not play at all last season but has received a second chance at Eupen under their Spanish coach Jordi Condom.Mngadi and Radebe joined Eupen in 2010 as teenagers from the Aspire Academy‚ the Qatar development institution that owns a portion of the club.A third player‚ Happy Simelela‚ joined at the same time but has since faded into obscurity despite links with BidVest Wits‚ Mpumalanga Black Aces and Jomo Cosmos in the past.Mngadi made his first debut for Eupen as an 18-year-old in the 2012/13 season when they campaigned in the second tier and went on to make 33 appearances over the two years before his move on loan to Chiefs.He failed to make the breakthrough at Naturena though‚ his only appearance a three-minute cameo in a 2-1 win over University of Pretoria in September 2014.He is a former national Under-17 player.Mngadi and Radebe open their new Belgian league season away at Zulte-Waregem on July 30. - TMG Digital..
