Ertugral expects an 'even better' Manyisa at Orlando Pirates this season

Tendai Ndoro scored the hat trick‚ but it was the return of little midfield maestro Oupa Manyisa for Orlando Pirates that was as instrumental in their 3-1 Premier League victory against Golden Arrows on Wednesday night. Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral said the return of the Bucs playmaker’s class to their midfield‚ playing his first official match after an eight-month absence with a broken ankle‚ was noticeable.“I think we don’t even discuss his quality. I was amazed by him watching him all those years‚” Ertugral said of the impish Manyisa.“We kept him playing in our preseason games for the full 90 minutes‚ so he was really on his toes. Last week he had 14km more in training. And this week even 2km more than that. “So it’s crazy – he’s really fit. And I think when he has that confidence to put his leg in‚ in one-on-one situations‚ we will have the old Oupa‚ or maybe even a better Oupa.“Because he understands the zones very well. And the combination tonight between him and Eddie [Gyimah] and Mpho [Makola] was great.” Bucs’ victory‚ and their slickness and dynamism in the second half‚ already have tongues wagging of a potentially thrilling three-way race for the PSL title between Pirates‚ Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns this season. If that not unlikely scenario does materialise‚ Manyisa and Ndoro’s names are sure to be at the fore in Pirates’ chase.- TMG Digital..
