Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango took notice of Briton Stuart Baxter’s return to South African football in the beginning of the year and have been impressed by the building blocks he's put in place at Supersport United. Satisfied with what he saw‚ Mashamaite on Tuesday returned after only a season at Swedish side BK Hacken to become the latest big-name signing for United with links to Kaizer Chiefs. He will resume a relationship with Baxter that began during their days together at Chiefs. But "Masha" would not speculate on whether Masango is also set to beat a path to the United door."I am very happy to be back at home‚ firstly to be with my family and secondly to have a new challenge in front of me at SuperSport‚" Mashamaite said."The coach has assembled a very exciting squad and I think we can go a long way in building something that is formidable." Masango remains frozen out at Randers after requesting a transfer from the Danish club.He has opted out of training with the first team after the club refused him a move away from the side in this transfer window. It is a saga that has been going on close to a month and shows no sign of ending.Mashamaite's arrival will give United a Chiefs look to it and the defender will join Baxter‚ Reneilwe Letsholonyane‚ Keegan Ritchie‚ Reyaad Pieterse and Onismor Bhasera. Asked what factors influenced his decision to return to South Africa and chose SuperSport‚ Mashamaite replied: “It was a lot of combinations. The prospect of playing with the kind of team that the coach has assembles‚ having worked with him before."I think he’s one of the people under whom you can like training very much."I was talking to Mandla Masango and he always referred to how he used to enjoy the training [under Baxter]. And how it kind of builds up a culture in a team."Me and Mandla talk a lot about the developments at home (in the PSL)." "I’m just looking forward to working with Stuart again‚ especially in the training sessions. Because you have five or six training sessions‚ and then one game."So it’s important that you enjoy training more than you like the game. Which is not to say that you don’t like the game. But if you enjoy training‚ the positive energy will rub off onto game."- TMG Digital..
