Mamelodi Sundowns’ mission of defending their Caf Champions League crown remains on course after they progressed to the next round of the competition following a hard fought 1-1 first round‚ second leg draw with Kampala City at Lugogo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The only goal of the match for Sundowns was scored by midfielder Anthony Laffor who found the back of the net ten minutes from time to silence the home crowd which proved to be enough to send them through.

Before Laffor equalised in the closing stages‚ City were on course for a major upset as their star attacker Geoffrey Serenkuma had given them the lead in the 30th minute after he managed to get the better of the Sundowns defence.
