Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to end speculation linking him with a switch back to the Premier League with Manchester City by insisting that he would like to see out his career at Real Madrid.
The former Manchester United star has only been in Spain for two seasons following his world record transfer of £80million.
While his own individual performances have been worthy of the price-tag, the Portuguese international is yet to taste La Liga or Champions League glory with his new club, instead playing second fiddle to the all-conquering Barcelona.
Ronaldo is said to be Man City's top target, with Sheikh Mansour prepared to bankroll a deal that what dwarf that which Madrid sanctioned in 2009.
However the player insists money is not his motivation.
'I'm not going to City,' Ronaldo said. 'I give you my word I'm not going. Money is not the most important thing. If it was for money I could have double what I have.
'The most important thing is the behaviour of the people and they treat me tremendously here and I am very happy in Madrid.'
