Maradona shows his old magic
Diego Maradona showed some of his old magic during the 15 minutes of Argentina's training session at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria on Wednesday.
The 49-year-old may not be as agile as in his younger days but he still managed to score twice from distance and also hit the woodwork twice.
Inter Milan's Diego Milito, Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid, Palermo's Javier Pastore and Martin Palermo of Boca Juniors also took part in the long-distance shooting practice against Argentina's three goalkeepers.
At the end, Maradona hugged first-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero before lighting up a cigar he received from a squad official on the touchline.
The rest of the squad left the training pitch just as the hundreds of journalists descended on it.
Argentina play Nigeria in their opening Group B game on Saturday at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. South Korea and Greece are the other teams in the South Americans' group.
