How Telkom Cup is shaping up

Sunday Times | 01 August, 2010 00:000 Comments

The race for the top four to partake in the annual Telkom Charity Cup is hotting up.

At the time of going to press, AmaZulu were leading the standings with 96975 votes followed by Mamelodi Sundowns (77713), Kaizer Chiefs (60623) and Orlando Pirates (59578).

Moroka Swallows still had an outside chance of breaking into the top four, with 57221 votes.

The four teams with the most votes will contest the traditional season opener at Soccer City this Saturday.

Voting closes at midnight tonight.

Tickets are on sale, costing R20 for children, R50 for adults and R70 for reserved seats. Proceeds from the sales will be distributed to charities.

Orlando Pirates won last year's tournament.
