Brian Laudrup undergoing cancer treatment
Former Danish football player Brian Laudrup on Tuesday disclosed he was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Laudrup, 41, has been diagnosed with a mild form of lymphatic cancer according to a statement from Danish broadcaster TV3 where he works as a commentator.
Laudrup said he was "shocked" over the diagnosis but "intended to win the battle" against the disease.
The former star made 82 appearances for Denmark, and scored 21 goals. He was on the Danish side that won the Euro 1992 title.
During his career, he represented Brondby, Bayer Uerdingen, Bayern Munich, Fiorentina, AC Milan, Glasgow Rangers and Chelsea, winning several championships.
Laudrup is the younger brother of legend Michael Laudrup.
