Canada’s Milos Raonic upset holder Fernando Verdasco 7-6 7-6 to win his first title at the San Jose Open on Sunday.

The powerful 20-year-old Raonic was never rattled during the final, nailing 13 aces and winning 49 of his 56 first serve points against the ninth-ranked Spaniard.

Raonic became the first Canadian since 1995 to win an ATP title. Greg Rusedski, who later became a British citizen, won the title in Seoul in April, 1995.

At 20 years and one month, he is the youngest ATP title winner since Marin Cilic of Croatia won the New Haven title at 19 in 2008.
