SOUTH Africa's own Hollywood star, Charlize Theron, will fall head over heels in love in 2013.

The romance will bloom towards the middle of the year - and she may even decide to walk down the aisle for the first time.

How do I know? I have been gazing into my crystal ball to see what surprises are in store.

Among those whose futures appeared in my glass orb are Taylor Swift, Serena Williams, Justin Bieber, Pippa Middleton, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ashton Kutcher.

But let's start with our pride and joy - the girl from Benoni.

It has been nearly three years since Charlize split from handsome Irish actor Stuart Townsend, and since then she has adopted a little boy.

I can't see in my crystal ball who the lucky man is, but he's handsome, wealthy and considered a real catch.

ME, MYSELF, I: Another major development in 2013 will be the nasty break-up of the relationship between reality star Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The musician, who has been basking in the glow of the Kardashians' publicity machine, will finally tire of Kim's ego. After all, Kanye likes to be the centre of attention himself. Kim will remain in love with herself, while Kanye will find a babe happy to play second fiddle to his star status.

SWIFTLY SEEKING: My crystal ball predicts that Taylor Swift, 23, will continue her search for a long-lasting boyfriend. And, yet again, she will fail. She and her beau, 19-year-old Harry Styles of the band One Direction, will barely see in the new year before going their separate ways. Taylor will reunite briefly with Conor Kennedy, the 18-year-old member of America's royal family she dated on and off in 2012. But, for the rest of the year, she will be prowling backstage at award ceremonies and in club VIP lounges to find someone to love.

SMS POWER: Against all odds, heart-throbs Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez will continue to celebrate their love. Both their careers will soar in 2013, but they will still find the time to get together privately. Their managements do all they can to lessen the influence they have on each other, but the couple will defy them with their intimate SMS correspondence.

DEMI'S REVENGE: Demi Moore will continue to not act her age. And thank goodness for that. She will provide gossips of my ilk with reams of copy as she works her way through a succession of young men. It won't make her any happier - but she will have something to smile about when her ex, Ashton, is dumped by his new girlfriend, Mila Kunis.

GETTING KNOTTED: Despite all the scepticism, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth enjoy wedded bliss in 2013. It is revealed that he signed a prenuptial agreement, securing her earnings of $130-million.

However, the wedding of the year will be that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The world media will go mad to get the first pictures of the bride, but they and the handful of guests are surprised by the simple ceremony in which the couple's children have starring roles.

FLAWED DIAMOND: Rihanna's star starts to fizzle as she battles to keep herself in the news. She learns that hungry fans need more than outbreaks of nudity and club brawls to keep them happy. Her engagement to Chris Brown alienates a big chunk of her remaining supporters, even though she breaks it off less than a month later. A chink of light reflecting off my crystal sphere suggests she has a chance to redeem herself with a hit album late in the year, but she may blow that too.

REWIND, REPEAT: Everyone's favourite bachelor, George Clooney, will continue to date a string of beauties, but will remain resolutely single.

The same goes for two other eligible hunks, Prince Harry and Tiger Woods. They begin seriously looking for life partners, shying away from the groupies. So there's still hope for you, girls!

Arnold Schwarzenegger will surprise no one when he starts dating a young blonde Russian model. They are the toast of Los Angeles for a few months, but then he replaces her with an aspiring actress from Slovakia. This pattern is likely to run and run and run. All budding starlets from Eastern European countries should make their moves now.

THE PIPPA PROBLEM: A shadow is cast over the British royal family when Pippa Middleton gets involved with a man with dubious connections. Big bucks, nude pictures and taped phone calls are involved and the tabloids have a field day. Her sister, Kate, is said to be "mortified".

Details of the scandal titillate the public for weeks on end, with Pippa finally escaping to the seclusion of Richard Branson's private island in the Caribbean.

TENNIS MATCH: Among those who will find love in 2013 is tennis star Serena Williams. She still wins a string of titles, but tennis takes a back seat as romance blossoms. She sports a new slimmed-down look, with a short haircut.

Stars whose careers will soar include Kate Hudson, Chris Rock, Megan Fox, Channing Tatum, Nicki Minaj and Scarlett Johansson.

A final peek into my crystal ball shows that Oprah will become more powerful in 2013, Bill and Hilary Clinton won't split up, Hugh Hefner will get engaged again and David Beckham will still strip off for advertisements.

Isn't it comforting to know some things won't change?
