There are rumours in Bollywood that Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is planning a co-production with the talented Anurag Kashyap for a period drama titled as Bombay Velvet. What makes the project more exciting are the names being tossed around to star in the mega project that will be canned in three segments. Guess who convinced Lara Dutta to accept the lead female role in Blue - none other than Akshay Kumar. According to the gorgeous former Miss Universe, she turned down the role as she could not swim. However, after much persuasion from Kumar she signed up for swimming lessons and within three months was ready for the challenge. Dutta, unfortunately, has scary memories of the sea as she almost suffered a nasty fall in the rough waters while working on her debut movie, Andaaz, in Cape Town. It was a quick-thinking Akshay Kumar that came to her rescue then - seems like the Khiladi is fast becoming her knight in shining armour.
