The programme involves the slaughter of animals and distribution of the meat to the disadvantaged.

Islamic Relief South Africa will distribute meat parcels on November 27. It aims to reach over two million people in Africa. Staff will oversee the slaughter in Zimbabwe, Malawi and three regions of South Africa.

Farouk Sulthan, who heads fund raising for the Qurbani initiative, can be contacted on (031) 208-2838 or by e-mail at durbs@islamic-relief.co.za.

In Durban, the Phoenix Advice Dawah and Care Centre in Durban will also hand out meat parcels to underprivileged families in the area.

Those interested in assisting can contact Rookaya Bobat on (031) 500-1499.
