Soccer stars Lucas Radebe and Luis Figo eluded fans, climbed Table Mountain and nibbled on Asian tapas in South Africa.

Radebe was pleased to act as Figo's tour guide in Cape Town, where both modelled alongside supermodel Alek Wek in an advertising campaign this week.

Radebe - who was born in Soweto, and played for Kaizer Chiefs and later Leeds United in England - and retired Portuguese, Real Madrid and Inter Milan star Figo were spotted at the Asian tapas bar Haiku on Tuesday night.

Radebe told the Sunday Times that he also planned to get Figo to try his personal favourite traditional dish of tripe and sheep's head.

He responded to questions on recent comments by Julius Malema that he would be the ideal candidate to take over coaching Bafana Bafana: "That's trouble; I'll consider that after the World Cup," he said before adding: "We've got a lot of work (to do) here, we need a proper structure, a proper development structure."
