Local fans of the on-trend homeware brands, H&M and Zara, can finally get their shop on, as two superstores open in Joburg’s new Mall of Africa today.

South Africa’s largest single-phase mall, the Mall of Africa, has opened its doors to the public. Packed with local and international brands alike, the centre boasts more than 300 stores and 7,000 parking bays, and at this mammoth scale clearly aims to dominate the South African shopping scene.

Situated in the Waterfall Estate between Midrand and Sandton, it will be home to the usual anchor tenants, such as Woolworths, Edgars, Checkers, Mr Price and Truworths, and will also host an exciting array of international power brands, such as H&M, Zara, Forever 21 and Hamleys.

H&M and Zara may not be new to Joburgers, but this will be the first time their popular homeware divisions hit the city.

The Spanish brand will open a flagship 700m2 Home store, that will be packed floor to ceiling with the entire Zara Home and Zara Home kids range. Expect to find a large selection of bedding and linens, cutlery, tableware, bathroom accessories, rugs, candles and more. The inaugural two ranges to hit our shores are inspired by Miami and Versailles respectively, two contrasting looks that see wild neons and romantic florals take centre stage.

Zara was integral in establishing the concept of fast fashion, and they’ve now extended this idea to their home department. As with all international Zara Home stores, the Joburg shop will be restocked twice a week, giving you ample reason to return and discover new products.

The Mall of Africa’s H&M store will be the fifth in South Africa, and the 3600m2 space will have an entire section dedicated to the brand’s Home department. Once again you’ll be able to find everything from bed linen to curtains, kitchenware to storage solutions, items for your kids’ room, bathroomware and more, most of which, in typical H&M style, contain an unconventional twist as a surprise element.

Both of these homeware giants employ a host of designers from across the globe, lending their ranges an international and diverse edge. If it’s affordable, on-trend, constantly changing décor you’re after, you sure have your fill headed your way today.
