Fashion Week Berlin's best show in pictures

Fashion Weekly editor Tiaan Nagel had front-row seats to the shows at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Seeing the new Bobby Kolade SS16 collection was the highlight of his week My best show? The supercool collection by Sudanese designer Bobby Kolade. Using hand-woven cotton from Ethiopia and rich Ugandan bark cloth, the range was anything but the usual inspired-by-Africa aesthetic.The grand ballroom setting and stage covered in tiny silver flakes contrasted beautifully with the contemporary clothing in splashes of colour and black-and-white details in parachuting and silk.Flashing past under intense strobe-like lighting, the models were clad in deconstructed-Bauhaus tailored pieces including asymmetrical capes in primary colours that were engineered into the sleeves of coats, and sheer lace dresses heavily embroidered with small shards of Plexiglas. If this directional collection is anything to go by, Kolade looks set to be the next big thing...
