Most people don’t realise it, but work wear can be fashionable and affordable too. Think beyond a simple black pair of pants and classic white shirt and you’ll soon discover how easy it is to shake off that stuffy corporate image.

Here are some key pieces to add to your office wardrobe that’ll make it simple to pull together a fabulous work look everyday, no matter how time-pressed you are in the mornings!

BODY SUIT

The look of a perfectly- fitted top can be achieved by wearing a body suit. Pair it with an A-line skirt for an elegant look.

Body-suit, R399, and Chiffon skirt, both H&M.

LOOSE-FIT TROUSERS

Loose fit trousers have got to be one of summer’s biggest trends and you can easily incorporate them into your work wardrobe. Team the pants with a basic white top to keep the look clean and chic.

JUMPSUIT

For a different take on the corporate suit, go out and buy yourself a jumpsuit. Add a printed wedge to keep the look young and fun.

SHIRTDRESS

Wear a shirt to work, they say? No problem! A shirtdress is the ultimate easy-to-wear outfit; simply add a pair of summer sandals and you’ll be good to go.

Shirt dress, R999, and Gigi sandal, R899, both Witchery.

CULOTTE

The culotte is another must-have item of the moment. If you’re feeling bold, try a print-on-print ensemble – just pair the look with a plain shoe so as to not over do it.

Culotte, R999, Printer top, R799, and  Tulula sandals, all Trenery.

MUST-HAVE ACCESSORIES

A handbag is an effortless way to add a pop of colour to your outfit. Keep the look sophisticated by sticking to bold, dark colours, like this maroon bag, R599, from H&M.

An edgy black heel is a must. Court heel, R1,099, H&M.

Shy away from the standard corporate heel. You’ll find a tan platform sandal, R499 from H&M, to be a versatile addition to your working wardrobe.
