In-flight entertainment took an exciting turn when passengers onboard a Lufthansa flight en-route to the Big Apple were treated to a sky-high fashion event to mark the start of New York Fashion Week.

The airplane's aisles were turned into runway ramps with the presentation of two live fashion shows — 10,000m above sea level.

Fashion designer Rubin Singer presented a selection of looks from his previous Spring/Summer 2017 collection. He also gave passengers a sneak peek at his new Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, which will debut in New York during the upcoming Fashion Week season.

The second runway show highlighted the influence of fashion trends on flight attendants’ uniforms throughout aviation history.

The event was part of Lufthansa Airlines' open innovation platform, The FlyingLab. This year's theme, fashion and technology, also gave passengers the chance to try new wearable technology and innovative new in-flight products.
